Winston Dookeran Steps Down as Head of Trinidad’s Congress of the People

Trinidad Finance Minister Winston Dookeran, the political leader of the Congress of the People party in Trinidad, announced he would be stepping down from his role. Dookeran took the top spot in the party in 2006 after leaving the UMC. After a meeting with party members, he said he would not offer himself as a candidate for the party leadership.
