Bahamas, Chinese Firm Agree on Infrastructure Projects in Abaco, Exuma

The Bahamas signed a memorandum of understanding with China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. that will see the Chinese company perform infrastructure work on several islands, including Abaco and Exuma. The projects include a bridge between Little and Great Abaco, a port and highway in Exuma and the design and construction of the North Abaco Port and bypass road. “These projects have all been deemed necessary to enhance mobility of residents and to facilitate further development of tourism along other industries on these islands,” said Neko Grant, Minister of Public Works and Transport. “The signing of this MOU and the anticipated construction works will bring much-needed relief to residents of these Family Islands.”
