Aztec Airways Is Adding New Flights to The Bahamas

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 28, 2021

Fort Lauderdale-based Aztec Airways has added a new route in The Bahamas, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Beginning Jan. 14, 2022, Aztec will be operating two weekly flights from Fort Lauderdale to Rock Sound Airport on the island of Eleuthera.

The service departs from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport’s private terminal, meaning no TSA lines or crowds.

The company is operating the service on Piper Chieftain aircraft.

The new service complements existing scheduled routes from Fort Lauderdale to North Eleuthera and Governor’s Harbor in Eleuthera, along with Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay in Abaco.

Rock Sound also provides easy access to the Cape Eleuthera resort.

Rock Sound is in the midst of a renaissance, with the recently-debuted Jack’s Bay development (anchored by a Tiger Woods Par 3 course) and the just-announced Ritz-Carlton Reserve project.
