Canadian low-cost carrier Swoop is flying to Punta Cana.
The airline has officially kicked off its new service between Toronto and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
The new service is operating twice each week, with flights on Sundays and Tuesdays, according to Swoop.
“We’re pleased to celebrate the launch of our new flights between Punta Cana and Toronto, creating enhanced connectivity between Canada and the Dominican Republic,” said Bert van der Stege, Head of Commercial and Finance, Swoop. “Demand for air travel continues to rebound and we’re confident this new air service will be popular amongst travelers and support the recovery of the tourism economy of the region.”
The Toronto-Punta Cana flights take about five and a half hours.
“We thank Swoop Airlines for placing their trust in Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and inviting us to be part of their expansion plans in the country, to promote tourist and economic growth among both nations,” said Frank Elías Rainieri, president and CEO of Grupo Puntacana. “We are excited to welcome Canadian passengers on this new direct route from Toronto.”
