Spirit Airlines Is Launching New Flights to Puerto Rico

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 9, 2021

Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines is set to expand its Caribbean network with a new route to Puerto Rico next month, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The company will launch new service from New York’s LaGuardia Airport to San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 17.

The new service will operate once weekly on Saturdays.

“Our Guests love the convenience LaGuardia Airport provides, and we’re excited about offering even more non-stop options now that we have the opportunity to use both Terminal C and the Marine Air Terminal,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit. “We’re grateful for the Port Authority’s long-standing partnership over the past two decades, and I want to personally thank their team for supporting Spirit’s growth.”

The new nonstop flights expand the carrier’s already-strong service to Puerto Rico, which includes both San Juan and Aguadilla airports.

The carrier has been serving Puerto Rico for two decades.
