Jamaica’s Dazzling New Luxury Resort Is Reopening in October

By: Alexander Britell - August 13, 2020

The most exciting new luxury resort in Jamaica in years is set to reopen in October, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new Eclipse at Half Moon, a new luxury resort at the iconic Half Moon property in Montego Bay, will reopen on Oct. 1, a spokesperson for the property confirmed.

The property, which had just opened its doors in the first quarter of 2020, has 57 rooms, an infinity-edge pool, a natural swimming cove, seven bars and restaurants and access to all of the wider Half Moon complex’s amenities, including some of the best golf in the wider region (dubbed the “Caribbean Augusta“).

The property, which had seen a dramatic response in its early opening, is set across Estate Homes, a collection of four-bedroom villas; Ocean Rooms and a signature Great House Ocean Suite.

“Eclipse is a celebration of Jamaican culture and the country’s incredible natural beauty,” said Greg Pirkle, Half Moon’s managing director, in a statement. “We look forward to once again welcoming guests to enjoy Half Moon’s luxury of space and legacy of excellence.”

The property is relaunching under a series of new health and safety protocols called “Our Commitment to Your Well Being.”

Half Moon also announced that its iconic Founders Cove resort will reopen on Dec. 15.
