Leading Travel Advisors in Nassau for Caribbean Travel Marketplace

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 21, 2020

NASSAU — A group of leading travel advisors from across the United States have arrived in Nassau for the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace event.

The team of top-selling agents is on island as part of a new pilot program to bring together travel advisors with operators of Caribbean hotels, resorts and attractions during what is the Caribbean’s leading travel conference.

The event is being held at the Baha Mar resort’s Performing Arts and Convention Center on Cable Beach in Nassau.

“Throughout the years we’ve discussed the idea of how to incorporate the travel agent industry into our event and we have a lot of different ideas on how this could be done successfully,” said Karen Whitt, the CHTA’s first vice president and chair of the event, who is the Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development for the Hartling Group in Turks and Caicos.

The aim of the program was to have the advisors experience Marketplace, participate as buyers and provide feedback.

“This feedback will help shape policies into the future. However, what we can assure is that our Caribbean suppliers are very excited about this pilot program and its potential to increase business to the region,” Whitt said.

The team of top-tier advisors will also be performing site inspections in Nassau and Paradise Island.
