Nevis’ Nisbet Plantation Beach Club Names New GM

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 3, 2020

Nevis’ venerable Nisbet Plantation Beach Club has named a celebrated hotelier as its new general manager.

The luxury beach hotel has tapped Mary Jo Ryan, who spent 36 years at the legendary Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, for the role.

“I’m so excited to be joining Nisbet Plantation as it celebrates 30 years under the ownership of David Dodwell and I look forward to making a contribution to the resort’s next chapter,” Ryan said in a statement. “Nisbet Plantation is renowned for its friendly staff and I want us to continue with this to make sure that each and every one of our guests feels that they are part the amazing Nisbet family.”

Ryan will be part of a new senior management team at the resort that also includes resort manager Pam Martin.

“In Mary Jo and Pam we have a dynamic team who will guide Nisbet Plantation into the next 30 years of its history,” said David Dodwell, who owns the property. ““In her 36 years at Bitter End Yacht Club, Mary Jo earned a well-deserved reputation as being an extremely talented hotelier who really understands guests’ needs and I’m delighted to have persuaded her to join the team at Nisbet Plantation.”
