Grenada is set for the 2020 debut of a major new all-inclusive resort from the Royalton Luxury Resorts brand.

The new property, which.represents a transformation of the former Grenadian by Rex resort, is slated to open its doors in March 2020, according to a statement from the company.

The resort will open with 269 luxury suites on a beachfront setting on Grenada’s “Tamarind Bay,” on the southwestern corner of Grenada near Magazine Beach, a short distance from Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport.

The new all-inclusive is the latest in what has been a rapid Caribbean expansion for the Royalton brand and its Blue Diamond Resorts parent company.

The resort will include Royalton’s signature all-inclusive amenities, from 24-hour room service to complimentary non-motorized watersports, free high-speed Wi-Fi and a host of swim-up rooms.

The Royalton Grenada, which will also include a spa, will be the first property in the Royalton umbrella to open the new Ma Maison eatery, a French bistro-style restaurant.

It will be the second major opening for Royalton in the Caribbean in 2019, following the late spring debut of the new Royalton Antigua, which recently debuted Antigua’s first-ever overwater bungalows.

It’s a major addition to the island of Grenada, which has been seeing very strong stayover arrival in recent years, a tourism renaissance that kicked off in earnest when Sandals Resorts International debuted its Sandals Grenada resort on Pink Gin Beach in 2014.
