When you’re set on a prime perch of Seven Mile Beach, managing your outdoor space is no easy task.

Accordingly, the Westin Grand Cayman has announced the appointment of a new general manager of outdoor operations.

The resort, which is fresh off a $50 million transformation, has tapped Michael Zolcak in the role, in which he will oversee the operation of the property’s Tortuga Beach Grill and Bar, Hibiscus Spa, and what is the largest freshwater pool on Grand Cayman.

“Michael is a great addition to the executive team at Westin Grand Cayman. He brings an immense amount of experience, passion and talent to delivering memorable experiences to guests,” said Jim Mauer, vice president and managing director at the Grand Cayman property. “With his broad experience and management acumen honed over more than a decade in the hospitality industry, Michael will be instrumental as well as innovative in ensuring that all of our guests get the most from their time enjoying the great outdoors along Seven Mile Beach.”

Zolcak most recently served as hotel manager at the Mayfair Hotel in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood.

“I’m thrilled to be presented with the opportunity to join Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa,” Zolcak said in a statement. “Outdoor operations play an integral part in ensuring that our guests have an incredible Westin stay and leave feeling better than when they arrived. With our huge expanse of Seven Mile Beach; upscale services by our Beach Ambassadors; and the plethora of activities that make Grand Cayman the top destination in the Caribbean – visitors are able to truly relax, rejuvenate and make lasting memories.”
