Hilton is planning big growth for its flagship brand, Hilton Hotels, and the company has made a new hire to spearhead its expansion.

The company has named Vera Manoukian as its new senior vice president and global head for Hilton Hotels and Resorts.

Manoukian is overseeing the brand portfolio for Hilton Hotels and will be responsible for “promoting, elevating and growing” the brand.

“We are thrilled to have Vera as the newest member of our brand management leadership team,” said Jon Witter, Chief Customer Officer. “She is extremely well-regarded within the hospitality industry, and given her diverse global business experience, I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to Hilton and our owner community.”

Manoukian most recently served as president and chief operating officer at Denihan Hospitality, and had previously served as senior vice president of operations for Starwood.

“I am honored to be joining the team responsible for managing a portfolio of 14 industry-leading brands, and excited by the opportunity to work with the company’s flagship brand,” said Manoukian. “I have tremendous respect for the legacy of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and look forward to being part of its continued development and growth around the world.”

The appointment of Manoukian comes shortly after Hilton appointed a new head for its Caribbean and Latin America operations, Jorge Giannattasio.
