Norwegian Continues Surging Growth

European low-cost carrier Norwegian continues to show strong growth, according to the carrier’s latest numbers.

Norwegian, which has been increasingly expanding its presence in the Caribbean (particularly to the French Caribbean), carried more than 3 million passengers in April, a 16 percent jump compared to the same month in 2017.

The carrier reported a total of 3.049 million passengers, an increase of 411,020 passengers year over year, while total traffic growth increased by 44 percent and capacity growth jumped by 51 percent.

“We have a strong passenger growth this month, despite the effects of the Easter traffic. Our load factor is solid, and the company’s long-haul capacity has grown considerably since the same period last year, with a record high growth of 311 percent outside the Nordics. As a result of the capacity increase we have offered a high volume of low fare tickets to attract new customers, consequently impacting the yield this month,” said CEO of Norwegian, Bjørn Kjos.

Norwegian recently announced it would be continuing its service to Martinique for the upcoming tourist season.
