A New $130 Million All-Inclusive Coming to Dominican Republic

A major new hotel development is coming to the Caribbean’s hottest hotel investment destination.

The new Grand Fiesta Americana Punta Cana Los Corales all-inclusive resort has already broken ground in the Dominican Republic’s tourism hub.

The property will feature a total of 558 guest rooms and a focus on beach activities like snorkeling paddleboarding and kayaking.

Punta Cana’s Playa Bavaro will be home to the new resort.

The property, set about 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, will be Mexico-based parent company Posadas’ ninth property and first hotel in the Caribbean.

The new Grand Fiesta Americana Punta Cana Los Corales is slated to make its debut in Punta Cana in late 2019, a spokesperson for the company told Caribbean Journal.

It’s the latest in what has become a surge in hotel development in the Dominican Republic, particularly in Punta Cana.

Posadas is planning two new resorts in Cuba.

Posadas also this week announced plans to open a pair of new hotels in Cuba, the Fiesta Americana Punta Varadero and Fiesta Americana Holguin Costa Verde, both of which will also be all-inclusives.

“With these new properties, we are very excited to offer our guests the same five-star treatment and vacation experience that characterizes our brands in new, exciting destinations,” said Rafael Lizarraga, Chief Commercial Officer of La Colección Management Company. “These hotel openings represent the beginning of our international growth to key beach destinations.”

Posadas is the largest hotel operator in all of Mexico, with 170 hotels and resorts comprising 24,500 rooms in both beach and urban destinations in the country, best known for its Live Aqua and Grand Fiesta Americana brands.
