Vance Lewis has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of Tortola Pier Park Ltd, the organization announced this week.

His appointment by the Board of Directors is effective February 1, following the demitting of office by current CEO, Dona Regis on January 31.

“We are happy to have had Ms. Regis serve us over the last three years,” said Anghel George, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tortola Pier Park. “She has truly been invaluable throughout her term and developed a strong foundation for Tortola Pier Park and the BVI, where which we can all be proud of.”

Over the last three years, Tortola Pier Park has been transformed from construction phase to a fully operational multi-use facility and entertainment hub for local residents and international guests in the British Virgin Islands.

Under the leadership of Regis, the facility has reached several milestones, including its grand opening in February 2016; 97 percent occupancy in under two years; and the creation and implementation of key management and operational policies and procedures.

Tortola Pier Park has also hosted its inaugural Jazz & Style Festival, received multiple awards, and reopened after the impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The Board of Directors of the port plan to recruit a CEO who will focus on a new phase for the facility, ensuring the continued growth of the new cruise and shopping center.

“We welcome Mr. Vance Lewis as a part of our Tortola Pier Park Ltd team where given his vast experience in organizational structure and management, we are confident that he will be instrumental for the company as we actively recruit a suitable CEO and continue the work that Ms. Regis has started in elevating the BVI’s cruise and shopping product,” George said.
