A major new all-inclusive has opened its doors on the Riviera Maya of Mexico, but it’s not quite like the all-inclusive hotels you’re used to.

Yes, the new Xcaret is centered around an “eco-archaeological park.”

Experiencias Xcaret has announced the grand opening of the new Hotel Xcaret Mexico, a five-star all-inclusive in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean.

“What was an ambitious vision that began 25 years ago, today has become a dream come true. Hotel Xcaret Mexico invites travelers to celebrate the history, culture and natural landscape that makes Mexico such an invigorating place,” said Marcos Constandse, CEO of Destino Xcaret.

The property includes a total of 900 suites with balconies overlooking either the beach, private coves or rivers and gardens, along with 10 restaurants and eight different bars.

The culinary offering includes “Ha,” an eatery helmed by former Top Chef contestant and Michelin-star chef Carlos Gaytan.

“We are not just going to serve meals or dinners, we want to generate a personal relationship with each person and transform their lives through a story our dishes will tell,” Gaytan said.

It also includes an adults-only “oasis” called Casa Fuego and a wellness-focused wing called Casa Agua for those in search of a particularly tranquil setting.

That’s joined by the Muluk Spa and Wellness center, which will include treatments performed in cabins set in natural rock caves, from “biodynamic signature amenities” to a hydrotherapy circuit.

Accommodations come with complimentary access to eight nature parks and tours, according to the property.

The project is the beginning of a 10-year plan for “Destination Xcaret,” a tourism development that will span 914 acres and boast more than 6,000 guest rooms at its completion — along with a 12,000-seat stadium, a convention center, a shopping center and a culinary destination dubbed Pueblo del Rio.
