Grenada’s Calabash Joins Relais & Chateaux

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 14, 2017

By Alexander Britell

In a major boost for Grenada’s hotel sector, the island’s Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel has become a member of the Relais & Chateaux hotel group.

Relais & Chateaux is a collection of mostly family-run hotels with a focus on high-level cuisine, warm hospitality and five-star services.

“It is a huge honor to be part of such a highly regarded hotel group and we feel that there is much synergy between ourselves and Relais & Châteaux. We are looking forward to a great partnership and bright future together!” said Director of Sales & Marketing, Adele Garbutt.

Calabash is due to complete an extensive upgrade project in early October.

A suite at Calabash.

That project includes the renovation of the property’s reception, bar area and spa.

Calabash has 30 suites set on an eight-acre site facing the sands of L’Anse Aux Epines beach in Grenada.

It also features two restaurants: The Beach Club and Rhodes Restaurant, the latter a regular in Caribbean Journal’s list of the 50 best restaurants in the Caribbean.

Relais & Chateaux has a total of 540 hotels and restaurants around the world, including four others in the Caribbean in Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Nevis and St Barth.
