Expedia: St Lucia Attracting Luxury Demand

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 5, 2017

The island of St. Lucia is attracting significant luxury demand of late, according to a new report from the Expedia Group.

St. Lucia hotels on Expedia’s platforms reported average daily rates nearly 45 percent higher than the regional average last year, with travelers focused on high star-rating hotels.

The United States remained the top feeder market for St. Lucia last year, followed by the United Kingdom and Canada.

“Expedia’s primary goal in St. Lucia is to connect hotel partners to customers through our innovative technologies, tools, expertise and global reach,” said Luciana Melo, Area Manager for the Caribbean, the Expedia group. “Our local market management team is always available to provide strategic recommendations and better enable local hotel partners to gain exposure to their properties on an international scale.”

Cap Estate (led of course by the Cap Maison hotel) saw the highest average average daily rate on the island at a price of nearly $650 followed by Soufriere at nearly $505 and Castries at nearly $405, according to Expedia.
