AMResorts Just Hit Another Milestone

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 10, 2016

The Caribbean’s fastest-growing hotel company has just hit another milestone: Apple Leisure Group subsidiary AMResorts has announced that its brand management portfolio now extends to 60 properties.

That follows the signing of several new hotel deals in the first seven months of 2016.

The new deals represent a 10 percent portfolio growth for AMResorts, lifting the brand past the 20,000 room benchmark.

“By focusing on growth in established markets and seizing opportunities to expand into new destinations, Apple Leisure Group’s resort product footprint is now stronger and broader than ever,” said Alex Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group. “Reaching the 60th resort milestone is a testament to our ability to optimize resort performance and stay ahead of the curve by anticipating where travelers want to be.”

AMResorts, which was founded in 2001, will open 10 new resorts by the end of 2016 across six brands: Zoëtry, Secrets, Breathless, Dreams, Now and Sunscape resorts.

“Our dynamic business model combined with our ability to find the right deal in the right place at the right time has enabled us to grow at an industry-leading pace,” said Javier Coll, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Apple Leisure Group. “In addition to continued expansion in Mexico and the Caribbean, we are introducing AMResorts’ innovative Endless Privileges, Unlimited-Luxury and Unlimited-Fun resort concepts to new markets like Costa Rica and Panama.”

The company’s most recent deal was the signing of the new-build Zoëtry Chamela Costalegre Mexico all-inclusive resort.

“Reaching this goal as we hit the 15-year anniversary mark highlights AMResorts’ proven track record of bringing high-end resort brands to beachfront destinations that are easily accessible from numerous gateways across North America,” said Gonzalo del Peon, President of AMResorts. “Our tailored approach to the traditional all-inclusive resort model through six distinct resort brands, has allowed us to deliver exceptional products and services to a wide variety of travelers for over a decade.”
