LaRocque, Ban Meet in New York

CARICOM Secretary General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon this weekend on the eve of the General Assembly meeting in New York.

The two leaders discussed several issues of interest to CARICOM, including climate change, as well as cooperation between the Caribbean market and the UN system.

More than 120 heads of state are slated to attend the session this week, which will focus on a series of issues including non-communicable diseases and nuclear safety.
