What’s New at Atlantis

Atlantis Paradise Island has been a fixture on the Bahamian resort scene for more than 20 years, but it isn’t resting on its laurels.

Two revamped restaurants, Poseidon’s Table and Plato’s, will launch at the 3,400-room resort’s Royal Towers, as well as a pair of amenities likely to be a godsend for vacationing families.

In a first-of-its-kind partnership, the resort’s Marina Village restaurant, Bimini Road, has joined with Parents magazine to offer a kids’ menu that goes beyond the usual chicken nuggets to include healthy, delicious and parent-approved items such as jerk chicken Caesar salad and grilled fish of the day. Even the burger on the menu is healthy, accompanied by apple slices, corn on the cob or a green salad instead of the customary (and fat-laden) French fries.

Atlantis has also debuted a mobile app, powered by GPS, which allows families to track down their loved ones and keep an eye on their kids, no matter where they are on the resort.

That’s no small feat since the mammoth ocean-themed playground includes three separate hotels, 19 bars and 21 restaurants on the sprawling beachfront compound. Additionally, the app’s chat function allows guests to request items such as cribs, extra towels, and pool toys, delivered on demand to their room.
