A Major Caribbean Travel Conference Returns to Puerto Rico

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 11, 2016

The Caribbean’s biggest new travel conference, ETI, is coming again to Puerto Rico this May 11-14.

ETI, or Expo de Turismo Internacional, will bring together hundreds of stakeholders with an interest in growing and selling Caribbean tourism.

“The ETI 2016 event in Puerto Rico will be a key marketing event that allows travel agents, tour operators, suppliers, advertisers, and other business sectors from the tourism industry from all over the Caribbean to meet and do business under the same roof,” said Ingrid Rivera Rocafort, executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “The event is a concerted effort by Puerto Rico to create interaction and alliances between destinations and industry partners at a global level.  By increasing awareness of the unique and diverse offers available for travelers we promote economic growth and therefore increase the quality of life in the region.”

This year’s ETI will include a number of “power panels” covering issues important to Caribbean tourism.

One such panel will be led by Alexander Britell, founder and editor-in-chief of Caribbean Journal, and will cover the Caribbean’s regional airline industry.

The conference will be held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan.
