Aruba Sees More than $100 Million in Hotel Improvement Projects

Aruba has recently invested more than $100 million in significant hotel updates to enhance guests’ experiences, with an additional $50 million planned for next year.

The investment comes as a part of the island’s $1 billion revitalization and beautification project.

The project includes the recent and upcoming property updates of over a dozen resorts, as well as the upgraded traveler amenities at the island’s Reina Beatrix International Airport.

Notable among these improvements are new APC and ABC Kiosks, which will expedite the customs process.

In 2014, the airport accommodated a record number of passengers – over 2.5 million – and, as traffic continues to soar, Aruba is planning further airport investments of between $100 and 150 million for the coming years.

Another feature of the project is the introduction of Aruba’s inaugural Restaurant Week in late September, which will highlight its booming culinary scene in an exciting new way.

“Aruba’s government, hotel partners, airport authority, businesses, and friendly local people are equally committed to the continued enhancement of our One Happy Island,” said Otmar Oduber , Aruba’s Minister of Tourism, Transportation, Primary Sector, and Culture.
