Scrub Island Resort has named Chef Juan Morrison as the property’s new executive chef, it announced Tuesday.

The property has also appointed Maheesha “M” Ratnayake as its new director of food and beverage.

Morrison, a native of Chile, will lead the culinary team at the resort’s three main restaurants. He comes to Scrub Island after serving as executive chef at Sandals Montego Bay, among other stops in the Caribbean.

“Chef Morrison joins the Scrub Island family with a glowing track record of managing complex culinary operations at five-star resorts in the Caribbean and luxury cruise liners circling the globe,” said Juli Corlwe, interim managing director at Scrub Island. “He has a deep love for great food and a passion to develop his team with an abundance of care and attention.”

Scrub Island’s restaurants include Tierra! Tierra!, One Shoe Beach Bar & Grill and Caravela.
