The government of Antigua and Barbuda is sending a trade mission to the Dominican Republic this week.

The delegation, which was sent in collaboration with the Caribbean Export Agency, includes members of the public and private sectors.

It is visiting the Dominican Republic from Jan. 15 to Jan. 17.

In a statement, the government said the mission sought to “strengthen trade and investment relations between Antigua and Barbuda and the Dominican Republic” and “the facilitation of arrangements that will foster the development of stronger business ties.”

The meeting serves as a precursor to what the government said would be an official planned visit to the Dominican Republic by Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer.

The delegation will be led by Ambassador Colin Murdoch.

“The successful undertaking of the initiatives stated above with the Dominican Republic will provide Antigua and Barbuda with the platform it requires to enhance its promotion and attraction of investments, strengthening of business ties among both parties and pave the way for deepening political and diplomatic relations among both countries,” the government said.
