Racquel Brown has officially begun her term as the new Acting CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority.

Brown, who is a 17-year veteran of the Caribbean tourism industry, has previously worked in the public and private sectors in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and the Eastern Caribbean, with stops at the Sandals Resorts International, Half Moon Beach Club and the US Agency for International Development, among others.

She has worked in destination branding, customer relations management and in the development of cultural and heritage programmes for sustainable tourism.

“I look forward to the addition of the new CEO to our leadership team, to strengthen our tourism policies for promoting stakeholder partnership and people empowerment, and for the design and implementation of various initiatives in product development and strategic marketing,” St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt said in a statement.

She succeeds Carolyn James, who was named Acting CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority in Dec. 2012.
