US-based Frontier Airlines has officially launched nonstop service from Denver to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The seasonal service will operate once every Sunday during the winter tourist season.

The new flights are the only winter nonstop flights from Denver to the Caribbean, according to the company.

“With the launch of service to Montego Bay, Frontier is the first and only carrier offering nonstop service from Denver to Jamaica,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial, in a release. “We’re confident that travelers will love our friendly, low fare service to this popular destination.”

The flights depart Denver at 8:10 AM local time and arrive in Montego Bay around 3:00 PM. The return flight heads out of Montego Bay at 3:55 PM local time, arriving in Denver at 7:35 PM.

“We are eager to welcome visitors from Colorado and its environs to Jamaica with the start of nonstop service from Denver to Montego Bay on Frontier Airlines,” said John Lynch, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “This seasonal weekly flight will provide ease of access to visitors looking to escape the cold weather and experience the warmth of our destination. We look forward to welcoming our guests to experience our wonderful culture, delectable cuisine and numerous attractions and entertainment activities.”

The service is being operated on an Airbus A319 with 138 seats.
