The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has suspended a Jamaican international footballer and the national team’s doctor, it announced Thursday.

FIFA suspended midfielder Jermaine Hue and team doctor Dr Carlton Fraser. Both had been provisionally suspended last month for the violation of an anti-doping rule following a World Cup qualifying match in Honduras in June.

Hue has been declared “ineligible” for nine months after testing positive for dexamethasone, according to FIFA.

Fraser faces a steeper penalty, having been declared ineligible for four years after FIFA said he administered the substance, which is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List.

Hue’s suspension will lapse on May 6, 2014, while Fraser’s suspension will conclude on Aug. 6, 2017.

It’s the latest in an unfortunate series of doping incidents for Jamaican athletes, following a group of track and field athletes that tested positive for banned substances this summer, including a pair of Olympic medalists.
