Bahamian Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes swore in the first eight cabinet ministers appointed by Prime Minister Perry Christie in a ceremony at Government House Thursday.

Christie was himself sworn in earlier this week, followed by his Deputy Prime Minister, Philip Brave Davis.

The Prime Minister’s Progressive Liberal Party ousted the Free National Movement in Monday’s vote, leading to the resignation of former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham as the FNM’s leader.

Ingraham also resigned the North Abaco seat to which he was re-elected on Monday.

The PLP won 29 of the country’s 38 seats in Parliament.

He was replaced yesterday by Dr Hubert Minnis following a unanimous vote.
