The Dominican Republic recently sent a trade mission to Honduras to hold talks with local entrepreneurs and business industry associations, looking to expand trade between the two countries.

The visit was coordinated by Eddy Martinez, the director of the Dominican Republic’s Centre for Export and Investment.

The Dominican delegation was received by Jose Osvaldo Leger and Jose Martinez, Ambassador and Deputy Chief of the Dominican Republic in Honduras, who hosted and coordinated the business agenda in the cities of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.

The Dominican mission also exchanged business ideas with former Honduran President Ricardo Maduro, who talked about plans and projects between the two countries.

The delegation was comprised of Dominican Industry Minister Manuel Garcia Arevalo and Hector Cerna, president of the Dominican-Honduran Chamber of Commerce, along with export advisor Horacio Alvarez.

The mission additionally met with Honduran Industry Minister Jose Lavaire Adonis, with whom Arevalo discussed several pending cases of “mutual interest” for both countries.
