Former New York City Police Commissioner Wiliam Bratton is currently consulting with the Bahamian government on the issue of security.

Bratton, who was seen as one of the leaders of New York City’s success in fighting crime beginning in the mid-1990s, is giving advice to the Bahamas on the country’s crime situation.

Bratton held talks Tuesday with senior officials, including Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham and cabinet members including Tourism Minister Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace, National Security Minister Tommy Turnquest, Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade and others.

Bratton, who is also the former Commissioner of Police and Boston and Chief of Police in Los Angeles, is now the Chairman of Kroll, a department of security firm Altegrity Risk International.

In his work with Kroll, Bratton in part consults with foreign governments on their policing needs.
