A New Way to Fly to Abaco in The Bahamas

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 28, 2024

The historic charm of Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay. The always-bustling cocktail hours of Nippers on Great Guana. The rarefied homes of Baker’s Bay. Tranquil turtle cocktails at The Bluff House. The world-class golf at The Abaco Club on Winding Bay.

The Bahamas’ Abaco chain is home to some of the most beloved little islands in the broader Caribbean, but getting to them isn’t ever a direct route.

If you want to get to Abaco and its little gems, you’ve got to fly to Marsh Harbour before you can board the small boat or ferry you need to get to them.

Now there’s another new nonstop route between South Florida and Abaco.

Fast-growing carrier Tropic Ocean Airways is set to debut a new nonstop route between Palm Beach and Marsh Harbour.

The new scheduled service officially begins on May 1, the company confirmed this week.

Palm Beach fights will run twice weekly, with service on Sundays and Thursdays.

Tropic Ocean Airways now operates service to five different destinations in The Bahamas: Bimini, Cat Cay, Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands, Abaco and Nassau.
