American Airlines Is Adding More Nonstop Guyana Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 1, 2024

Guyana’s fledgling tourism sector is set for a big boost next year with an expansion of flights out of Miami, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Beginning in June, American will be doubling its daily flights between Miami and Guyana, with two daily nonstop flights.

The expansion will take effect on June 5, American Airlines confirmed.

Guyana has the fastest-growing economy in the Western Hemisphere, the product of a massive oil discovery that has quickly turned the country into a global energy giant

For Guyana’s tourism sector, the hope is that new interest and investment will help turn a decidedly boutique eco-tourism destination into a bigger regional tourism player.
