The government of Montserrat is preparing the development of a new town in Little Bay that could create 750 jobs, according to Governor Adrian Davis.
Davis said he was pleased with the progress being made on creating the master plan.
Consultant John Cox recently concluded a 10-day working visit related to the master plan, and the team expects a full investment prospects ready for review in March.
The project would include a hotel and business/residential centre along Little Bay, along with moving the port to Carrs Bay.
Accoridng to Kato Kimbugwe, the Private Sector Representative for the UK’s Department for International Development, there have been inquiries from the local community about investing up to $30 million in the new project.
The final design should be completed by March 2013.
