JetBlue: Punta Cana, Montego Bay Top Summer Vacation Demand

Caribbean destinations are dominating demand for summer vacations, according to new data from JetBlue Vacations.

Beach destinations “have emerged as popular vacation spots” for summer travel, led by Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico.

Aruba and Nassau, The Bahamas round out the top five, with Caribbean destinations comprising seven of the top 10 hotspots.

“We’ve noticed a growing trend in summer travel bookings, with a majority of our customers opting for beach and warm weather destinations, particularly in the Caribbean”, said Andres Barry, President, JetBlue Travel Products.

The other Caribbean destinations featured included San Juan and Curacao.

Bookings for travel between June and August for vacation packages are up 66 percent compared to the same period last year, according to JetBlue Vacations.

Cruise packages are also seeing increased demand, the company said.

Bookings for flight-plus-cruise packages are up 36 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
