By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 20, 2023

Anguilla is drawing top chefs from around the world for the second edition of its Anguilla Culinary Experience food festival.

This year’s event will include guest chefs Daniele Lippi from the two-Michelin-star Acquolina in Rome; four-time James Beard Award Winner David Waltuck from New York and Toronto’s Anthony Rose, among others.

The event features four days of parties, dinners, outdoor barbecues and tastings, with guests chefs and local chefs sharing kitchens and showcasing the island’s dynamic food scene, run-ing from May 4-7.

The event is in its second year.

“We are thrilled to welcome such an exceptional roster of international and local chefs to this year’s Anguilla Culinary Experience, as we help fund critical culinary programming for the next generation,” said Janine Edwards of Sunset Homes Anguilla, who is co-hosting this year’s festival with Trudy Nixon, creative director of True Anguilla.

The event runs May 3-6, kicking off with an opening tasting party at Aurora Anguilla; on May 4, Waltuck teams up with Veya’s Carrie Bogar for a tasting menu at Villa Alegria; May 5 includes a team-up by Lippi and Savi Beach Club’s Chef Dario Schiavo; May 6 sees Restaurant Night, highlighted by Rose cooking at Ember Anguilla with owner and Chef Marc Alvarez.

On May 6, chefs Dale Carty of Tasty’s/POV; Patrick and Claire Lynch of Roy’s Bayside Grill and master grillers from Paper’s BBQ and Anguilla Great House will face off in the ACE Beach BBQ + Basket Battle at the Anguilla Great House.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will fund educational programming for aspiring culinary professionals on the island.
