JetBlue Is Adding New Bahamas, Jamaica Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 9, 2022

JetBlue Airways is planning a new Caribbean push this spring to some of the region’s most popular destinations, Caribbean Journal has learned.

As part of the carrier’s expanded “Northeast Alliance” with American Airlines, JetBlue will be adding once-daily flights between New York-LaGuardia and Nassau, The Bahamas.

That service will kick off in spring 2023, according to JetBlue.

Next summer, JetBlue will be launching nonstop service between Newark and Montego Bay, Jamaica as well.

That route will be operating once daily through the end of the summer.

Next summer JetBlue will also be launching premium Mint cabins on its Saturday service between Newark and Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport.

LaGuardia will also seen the launch of once-daily flights to Bermuda for the summer season.

All of the new and expanded routes will begin taking reservations in January.

“The Northeast Alliance is bringing more of JetBlue’s low fares and great service to more customers,” said Dave Fintzen, vice president, Northeast Alliance, JetBlue. “As we continue to enhance the Northeast Alliance and link more destinations with new nonstop choices, customers finally have a compelling alternative to the carriers that have dominated the market for too long.”

Both The Bahamas and Jamaica have been reporting sizzling tourism numbers in 2022.

Jamaica in particular is expecting to soon eclipse its levels of tourism from 2019, prior to the onset of the pandemic.

“Giving customers more choices for travel is a critical part of the Northeast Alliance,” said Anmol Bhargava, American’s Vice President of Global Alliances and Partnerships.
