The Caribbean’s Hottest New Food Festival Is In Saint Lucia

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 9, 2022

It’s one of the culinary capitals of the Caribbean: the island of Saint Lucia, where local and international flavors have always merged into a dynamic food scene.

And now the island’s exciting gastronomic culture is on display with a new food festival.

It’s called Taste the Bay Food Festival, and it’s the brainchild of the popular Bay Gardens Resorts portfolio.

The Nov. 27 festival will be held at the resort chain’s flagship property, the Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Spa, with food tastings from over 10 restaurants.

That’s along with local talent featuring the sounds of Shemmy J, Ezra, Sedale, Invader and more.

“The culinary extravaganza will provide Saint Lucians and visitors alike with an authentic experience to savor the various flavors of Rodney Bay,” the resort said in a statement.

It’s the latest culinary innovation for Bay Gardens, which created the Caribbean’s first-ever all-inclusive dine around program.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, the restaurant sector was one of the first to suspend operations and one of the last to reopen. At Bay Gardens Resorts, we made it our duty to ensure that the program remained operational while navigating and adhering to COVID-19 protocols,” said Sanovnik Destang – Executive Director of Bay Gardens Resorts.

“In light of this, we are proud to announce that the Bay Gardens Resorts has spent more than 1 million dollars with Dine Around partners to date. With this new initiative, we continue to support our restaurant partners, as we understand that it is incumbent on us to contribute to a sustainable tourism ecosystem,” Destang said.

Tickets for the festival are just $9, available at all Bay Gardens properties and at dine around partner restaurants, which include Buzz Seafood & Grill, Memories of Hong Kong, Jacques Waterfront Dining, Bambooze, La Mesa Restaurant Bar & Grill, Rituals Sushi, Frydays Restaurant & Bar, AMICI Restaurant & Pizzeria, Spice of India, and Razmataz Tandoori Restaurant.
