Hyatt Is Opening a New All-Inclusive Resort in Cozumel

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 13, 2022

Hyatt’s newest all-inclusive resort is opening on the Caribbean island of Cozumel off the coast of Cancun next month.

The new Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and spa, an AMR Collection resort that is part of Hyatt’s portfolio, is opening its doors on Sept. 16, Caribbean Journal confirmed.

The all-inclusive resort is now taking reservations for stays beginning on that date, according to the AMR Collection’s Web site.

It will feature 154 Preferred Club Suites, with room options including junior suites, family suites and master suites.

That includes a collection of swim-out suites, according to AMR Collection.

Dining concepts will include five eateries: two a la carte restaurants, along with a pizzeria, an international buffet and a cafe.

Adult guests at the Dreams will also have access to the adjacent Secrets Aura Cozumel resort; all guests, including adults and families, will be able to access the nearby Sunscape Sabor Cozumel resort as well.

Dreams Cozumel Cape will also feature four bars: Aperitifs, with an ocean view in the main terrace of the property; Marlin, a pool bar; a preferred club lobby bar; and the Sugar Reef beach bar.

Travelers looking for wellness options will be able to access the 14,000-square-foot spa at the Secrets Aura Cozumel.

The hotel will also be part of World of Hyatt, Hyatt’s global loyalty program, which now includes a growing number of the brand’s all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico.

The addition of the Dreams brand is another boost for Cozumel, which has been seeing surging tourism growth in recent years, particularly since the onset of the pandemic.

This year alone, Cozumel’s air traffic is up almost 37 percent compared to the same period last year, and 7 percent higher than it was in the same period in 2019.

Hyatt acquired Apple Leisure Group last year.
