Hilton Just Opened a New Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 3, 2022

Hilton has officially opened its newest Caribbean hotel: the ROK Kingston hotel in the heart of Jamaica’s capital.

The hotel actually opened ahead of schedule — it had been slated to open its doors in September.

“Our doors are officially open,” the hotel confirmed to Caribbean Journal. ROK is about “the fine balance of contemporary luxury, world-class service and Kingston’s authentic cultural tapestry.”

The hotel is set in the increasingly popular “art district” of Kingston, overlooking the Kingston Waterfront and Harbor.

It marks the first-ever Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel in the Caribbean region.

The ROK has a total of 168 rooms across 12 floors.

Amenities include an on-site eatery, a pool, a fitness center and meeting space.

Hilton is on an expansion push in the region, with 11 hotel openings in the Caribbean And Latin America in the first half of this year alone.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to expand Hilton’s footprint in the Caribbean and Latin America, working with exceptional owners to introduce the right brand in the right market to meet the demands of today’s global traveler,” said Juan Corvinos, senior vice president, development, architecture and construction, Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton. “Our plans have led to incredible milestones in the region, from welcoming new all-inclusive and luxury resorts in some of the most sought-after destinations to celebrating first in market brands that cater to and attract all types of visitors. We are excited about our momentum and our continued commitment to this dynamic region.”

ROK is one of two Hilton hotels in Jamaica, joining the existing Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa in Montego Bay.

It’s the second major-brand hotel to open in Kingston in the last several years, joining the popular AC Marriott Kingston.
