Cayman Airways Launches Sales for Los Angeles Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 21, 2022

Cayman Airways has opened reservations for its highly-anticipated new flights between Los Angeles and Grand Cayman, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new service will be operating two legs per week: the Grand Cayman-Los Angeles leg will run on Saturdays, with the Los Angeles-Grand Cayman flight running on Sundays.

The flight time is about 5.5 hours.

Cayman officials said the route would help stimulate tourism from the West Coast and, perhaps more notably, create air connectivity for travelers from Southeast Asia.

“I am thrilled that Cayman Airways is entering the market with a solid introductory offer,” said Kenneth Bryan, Cayman’s Tourism Minister. “Since this new route to the City of Angels was announced, there has been tremendous interest particularly by the tourism and business communities.”

Bryan said the move would also make it easier for Los Angeles-based companies to use Cayman as a location for film, television and other productions.

“It has been a long-time goal to connect the Cayman Islands with our friends on the West Coast, and now that we are able to offer long-haul flights via Cayman Airways, I am looking forward to showcasing all that our islands have to offer with a whole new audience,” Bryan said.

Cayman Airways is operating the service on the carrier’s Boeing 737-8 aircraft.

“We look forward to welcoming guests with Caymankindness aboard a Cayman Airways flight soon,”,” said Fabian Whorms, President and CEO of Cayman Airways.

The service will operate year-round.

“We are thrilled that our national flag carrier Cayman Airways is making it even easier for West Coast travelers to discover our renowned beaches, legendary dive waters, world-class restaurants, and welcoming community,” said Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism for the Cayman Islands. “Our world-class restaurants are open to foodies, the clear turquoise waters are ready to be explored by scuba divers and snorkelers, and our local community is eager to welcome new friends with open arms.”
