Canadian travel giant Sunwing is set to relaunch 11 routes to the Caribbean and Mexico out of Ottawa this winter, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The flights will begin in November, running weekly through April 2022.

That includes flights from Ottawa to Montego Bay; Puerto Plata; Punta Cana; Cancun; Puerto Vallarta; Los Cabos; Mazatlan; and four destinations in Cuba: Cayo Santa Maria, Varadero, Cayo Coco and Holguin.

“After a trying year, we’re looking forward to bringing residents of the capital back to the tropics under our wing,” said Andrew Dawson, President of Tour Operations for Sunwing. “With 11 different destinations to choose from, we’ll be offering more routes to the south than any other tour operator from the gateway. Whether travellers want to explore the exotic coast of Los Cabos or the sunny shores of Punta Cana, there’s something for every travel style.”

While most of the routes will be just once weekly, Sunwing will be operating multiple weekly flights to Punta Cana, Cancun and Varadero.

Punta Cana will see the most service, with flights on Saturdays and Wednesdays from Nov. 6 to April 9 and on Mondays from Dec. 13 to April 11.
