Cruises Are Back in St Kitts and Nevis

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 23, 2021

The cruise industry in St Kitts and Nevis is back.

The twin-island federation welcomed back its first ship this week with the arrival of Seabourn Odyssey, and there are more to come.

That will soon be followed on July 29, when Celebrity Summit arrives at Port Zante.

That will be followed by Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas on Aug. 12; Celebrity Summit on Aug. 24; Celebrity Equinox on Aug. 25; and a pair of ships on Aug. 25 — with Celebrity Summit and Royal’s Allure of the Seas.

All crew and passengers over the age of 18 must be vaccinated to enter the port.

The destination is offering “bubble vaccinated tours and attractions,” officials said; all personnel interacting with cruise vessel operations, from port staff to taxi and tour operators, must also be vaccinated.

“We are pleased to welcome the Seabourn Odyssey to St. Kitts and Nevis for the highly-anticipated restart of our cruise tourism sector,” said St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Minister Lindsay F.P. Grant. “St. Kitts is a destination that remains in high demand amongst travelers and I want to thank our cruise line partners and our stakeholders here on island for working so diligently with us to ensure that all the necessary requirements were met to allow for the successful return of cruises to the Federation. This is indeed a propitious occasion as we begin rebuilding towards our preeminent cruise port position in the region.”
