Saint Lucia Set for More Cruise Calls

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 13, 2021

Saint Lucia’s relaunched cruise sector is set for a host of new calls this summer.

This week, that included calls by Celebrity Summit and Windstar Breeze, both of which berthed at Port Castries.

Saint Lucia officially reopened its borders to cruise ships at the end of last month, with more attractions opening to the public – from the Gros Piton Nature Trail to the Diamond Botanical Gardens.

“More cruise calls in such proximity reflect our resiliency as a people and the ability to navigate successfully through dire circumstances. This is testimony that we remain resolute in our quest to build back the tourism economy, even stronger than before,” said Saint Lucia Tourism Minister Dominic Fedee.

Officials say the remaining months of 2021 are “projecting strongly.”

The island is encouraging fully vaccinated visitors to “make the most of their stay and to get out and about and enjoy all that Saint Lucia has to offer, whether it is with a prescheduled tour, dining, shopping for craft and other items at the local market, Duty Free shopping, or just laying at the beach for some warm summer sun.”
