Grenada Is Now Open for Tourism

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 30, 2020

Grenada is now officially open and welcoming tourists from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe, among other source markets.

It’s a major broadening of the island’s tourism relaunch, which began with allowances for travel from select source markets over the summer.

“Pure Grenada Just for You is the perfect place to escape to paradise,” Patricia Maher, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, told Caribbean Journal. “Team Grenada has put the best measures in place to ensure the visitor experience is ‘Pure Safe Travels Approved.’ Now more than ever we are confident in our ability as a destination to offer the world a safe and enjoyable vacation.”

You can find Grenada’s most recent travel protocols here; most notably, all visitors to Grenada must produce proof of a COVID-19 negative test result within seven days of travel.

Crucially, all travelers from countries like the U.S., UK and Europe must stay at their hotel for a minimum of four days for observation and quarantine.

On the fourth day, travelers can get a PCR test to be allowed into the community, or they can forego the test and remain at the hotel for the duration of their visit.

All travelers to Grenada must fill out a pre-travel form (you can find it here) and download the Ronatrac contact tracing app.

So how do you get there?

Air Cnada will resume flights on Oct. 5, while U.S. airlines including JetBlue and American Airlines will relaunch flights to Grenada on Oct. 3 and 8, respectively.

UK and European visitors can fly on British Airways or Virgin Atlantic to Barbados and transit to Grenada on regional aviation (transiting passengers through Barbados must, however, show proof of a negative test within 72 hours of arrival).
