Barbados Tourism Makes Two New Senior Appointments

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - October 11, 2019

Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, the island’s destination marketing organization, has announced a pair of high-profile appointments.

BTMI has announced the promotion of Petra Roach to the newly-created post of Head, Global Markets, a role in which she will be responsible for “formulating strategies and plans for business development opportunities in the overseas markets to drive and heighten awareness of Barbados as a destination, while collaborating with industry partners to transform Barbados into a world-class destination.”

Roach has most recently served as BTMI’s director for the United States market, a tenure in which she has helped spearhead a slate of successful initiatives to increase brand awareness among American travelers.

BTMI has also named Marsha Alleyne its new Chief Product Development Officer.

In that role, Alleyne will “strengthen and be responsible for the sustainability, continuous development and promotion of Barbados’ tourism products and services,” according to a statement.

Both positions will be reporting directly to Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc’s Chief Executive Officer, William Griffith.
