San Juan’s Verdanza Hotel Is Getting a New Look

One of the top hotels in Isla Verde is getting a new look.

The Verdanza Hotel in San Juan’s beachy neighborhood of Isla Verde is undergoing a $3 million renovation that will cover all 222 rooms and suites, the main entrance, concierge desks, the interiors, restaurants and the exterior, among other areas.

The look aims to create a new kind of vibe at the property, according to general manager Ricky Newman.

“We are targeting a millennial mind-set — not a specific demographic audience,” Newman said.

Guest rooms will feature artwork from a local drone photographer, with furnishings from local vendors and “premium beds.”

The first phase of the renovation is covering the poolside area, along with rooms on the first floor.

The property is also retooling its eateries, Eighty20 Bistro and Burger Bar.

“We are going to continue featuring more local ingredients at our restaurants and coffee shop

since the new breed of younger travelers is more interested in how and where their food is

sourced and prepared,” Newman said.
