Richard Branson’s Necker Island Is Reopening Next Month

One of the most exclusive private-island destinations in the Caribbean — and the world — is about to make a triumphant return.

Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands is set for an official reopening next month, according to Virgin Limited Edition, the brand’s portfolio of ultra-luxe destinations.

The first guests to return to Necker will be participating in the Extreme Tech Challenge, a Branson-hosted global startup competition that has been held at Necker in the past.

That event’s “final” is set for Oct. 19.

“Delighted that Necker Island will soon be open again as we continue the recovery from Hurricane Irma,” Branson wrote on Virgin.com. “I’m looking forward to welcoming our first guests of 2018 back to Necker – the Extreme Tech Challenge.”

Necker 2.0 will have 11 bedrooms in its great house, including the renowned Master Suite, along with a bunkroom that can accommodate up to six children.

And, as always, Necker can be rented exclusively, with capacity for 22 guests along with six children.

Necker will also be resuming its “celebration weeks,” which give travelers the opportunity to book individual rooms at Necker for a total of seven nights.

That will include Celebration Weeks in October (from Oct. 20 and Oct. 27), and in November (from Nov. 17), with the latter week including options for three, four or seven nights.

Necker will also be adding new rooms throughout 2019, according to the company.

The island will become the latest British Virgin Islands private-island to relaunch this year, along with other top resorts including Guana Island and Cooper Island.
