Spanish hotel giant Riu is adding yet another all-inclusive in the wider Caribbean region, this time in the Costa Mujeres area about 11 miles north of Cancun.

The new Riu Palace Costa Mujeres is set to open its doors this November, according to a statement from the company this week.

The new-build all-inclusive will include six restaurants, six bars and five pools (and two swim-up bars) to accompany a total of 600 rooms (slightly smaller than the 700 rooms first announced by Riu).

It will also feature a gym, the company’s signature Renova Spa and the RiuFit fitness offering, along with a private stretch of beach, free sun loungers and a sun terrace.

Guests will additionally receive access to the Splash Water World water park at the adjacent Riu Dunamar, which itself debuted in Costa Mujeres at the end of 2017.

It’s part of what has been a rather robust expansion and upgrade push by the company.

That effort has included both new Caribbean hotels like the aforementioned Riu Dunamar, and expansions like the Riu Republica and transformation projects like the Riu Palace Paradise Island.

The latter is part of what seems to be a trend by the company of turning more properties into adults-only resorts.
