Strong Traffic Growth for JetBlue

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 10, 2018 - 8:40 pm

By the Caribbean Journal staff

It was a very strong July for JetBlue last month, according to the latest numbers from the New York City-based air carrier.

JetBlue reported 4.755 billion revenue passenger miles last month, a 6.2 percent increase compared to July 2017.

The carrier also saw 4.1 percent growth in available seat miles to 5.35 billion, while load factor rose by 1.8 percentage points to 88.9 percent in July.

For the year to date, JetBlue traffic is up 5.9 percent compared to the first seven months of 2017, with a total of 29.6 billion revenue passenger miles.

After a period of apparent stasis, JetBlue has once again begun expanding its network in the Caribbean, as carriers like Spirit and Southwest Airlines have significantly expanded their Caribbean networks in the last two years.
