Norwegian Traffic Keeps Surging

By: - May 7th, 2017

Air carrier Norwegian continues to report strong growth, according to the company’s latest traffic data.

Norwegian carried more than 2.6 million passengers in April, a jump of 15 percent compared to the same month in 2016, though the company said the figures were positively impacted by Easter traffic.

Load factor was up by 2.1 percentage points as well.

“We are very pleased to see that more passengers chose to fly Norwegian,” said Norwegian CEO Bjørn Kjos. “Our international growth continues, in line with the company’s global strategy, enabling us to create more jobs.”

Norwegian has been expanding its fleet and network in recent years, including the addition of two new Boeing 737-800s in April.

The carrier has been expanding its network in the Caribbean, particularly in the French Caribbean islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe and in Puerto Rico.
